(INEC) reported that 3,544,850 Nigerians have pre-registered online

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that 3,544,850 Nigerians have pre-registered online for the ongoing nationwide voter registration exercise within three weeks of its initiation.

The exercise commenced on August 18, 2025, and by September 4, 2025, it had recorded 288,614 completed registrations, which include both online and in-person processes.

According to a statement issued by INEC's National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, female applicants slightly outnumbered male applicants in both categories, comprising 51.76 percent of the online pre-registrations and 54.04 percent of the completed registrations.
