The parents of Bebe and Alice, who were victims of an attack in Southport last year, were invited to the unveiling of a new playground at Churchtown Primary School, which their children attended.

Students returning to the school after the summer break will find the playground, dedicated to the memory of the two girls. Alice Aguiar, aged nine, and six-year-old Bebe King both attended the school since the age of three. Seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe also lost her life in the attack.

To raise funds for the renovation of the old play area, Alice's father, Sergio, and the school's headteacher, Jinnie Payne, participated in the London Marathon in April. Elsie's father, David Stancombe, also took part in the marathon in honor of his daughter.
