Dangote Petroleum Refinery has appointed David Bird as CEO of its petroleum

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has appointed David Bird as CEO of its petroleum and petrochemicals division, effective July 2025.

Bird, a former executive at Shell with more than 20 years of experience, takes on this role as the refinery addresses operational challenges and expands its plans for fuel distribution across the country.

Chairman Aliko Dangote will maintain his current position while managing the group's broader operations, which include cement, fertilizer, and sugar.
