The victim of a stabbing incident in downtown on Thursday, July 24, 2025, has died from his injuries.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on that day, officers were dispatched to the 0-100 block of Dermont Baldwin Way S.E. following reports of a stabbing and robbery. Upon arrival, they found a man with apparent stab wounds, who was subsequently transported to the hospital in critical condition.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the victim passed away due to his injuries.

An autopsy conducted today, August 14, 2025, by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 37-year-old Gurdeep Singh MUNDI.

Authorities are requesting that anyone who witnessed the stabbing or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the southeast corner of Riverfront Avenue S.E. and Fourth Street S.E. between 8:30 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, contact the police by calling the non-emergency line.
