This commendation was made during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the NCDMB to the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the EFCC. The collaboration between the two entities began in 2019, with the EFCC helping the NCDMB to recover unpaid one percent remittances from oil and gas operators as required by law. According to Maureen Obukofe, who represented the Executive Secretary, the EFCC's efforts have been instrumental in reclaiming substantial funds for the Board, which are used to enhance local content in the oil and gas sector. The Port Harcourt's Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE1 Hassan Saidu, expressed his appreciation for the gesture and acknowledged the positive impact of such recognition on the morale of the commission's staff.
