The City of Calgary has decided to reintroduce photo radar in various "high collision" areas to enhance road safety and manage speeding issues.

The affected neighborhoods for August include Acadia, Applewood Park, Bowness, Citadel, East Village, Fairview, Huntington Hills, Kingsland, Palliser, Pineridge, Renfrew, Strathcona, Temple, and West Hillhurst. Additionally, photo radar will be present in construction zones where workers are at work.

To further combat traffic violations, Calgary employs 52 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations that monitor red light violations. These measures are part of a larger city-wide initiative aimed at reducing accidents and ensuring the well-being of both residents and construction workers.

For real-time updates and specific locations of photo radar, individuals are advised to consult the DiscoverAirdrie app or the official website of The City of Calgary Newsroom. This information is crucial for drivers to be aware of and to adhere to traffic laws accordingly, contributing to a safer driving environment in the city.
