"Minister MacDonald Concludes Fruitful Visit to Indonesia

Minister MacDonald has concluded a productive visit to Indonesia, where he engaged in discussions with senior officials to strengthen collaboration and advance Canada's trade interests in the region. His meetings with Ms. Widiastuti, Deputy for Food and Agriculture Coordination, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, and ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in line with Canada's Indo-Pacific Strategy.

The Minister also had the opportunity to meet with Indonesian business leaders to explore new avenues for Canadian exporters. Additionally, he visited the Bogasari Flour and Pasta Plant, a long-time importer of Canadian wheat, to identify opportunities to expand exports to the region. This visit marks an important step towards deepening Canada's economic ties with Indonesia and promoting Canadian trade interests in the Indo-Pacific region."
