Bill, Melinda Gates and Aliko Dangote met with NEC at presidential villa

Among those in attendance at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja are Bill Gates, Chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group.

Vice President Kashim Shettima is presiding over the meeting within the Council Chambers.

There may be a connection between their attendance at the meeting and the Foundations' efforts to eradicate the wild polio virus in Nigeria.

Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, and Lawan Dauda of Zamfara State are among those in attendance at the meeting.

The conference is taking place the day after Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump prices were raised.

The Dangote Bill Gates are joining Shettima and others in the NECC meeting.
Kashim Shettima, the vice president, is chairing the meeting inside the council chambers.

Their attendance at the conference might have something to do with their Foundations' efforts to eradicate the wild polio virus in Nigeria.

Among the other governors in attendance are Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, and Lawan Dauda of Zamfara State.

The conference is being held the day following the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump price rise.
