On Monday, July 14, 2025, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, President of Faso and Head of State, received the European Union Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Daniel Aristi GAZTELUMENDI, at the end of his mission in Burkina Faso. During the audience, the Ambassador provided an update on the European Union's cooperation efforts in the country, highlighting the significant progress made in various sectors.

Notably, the European Union has made substantial investments in education, health, infrastructure, job creation, and agricultural value chains, with a focus on secondary cities in the southwest region. In his remarks, Ambassador GAZTELUMENDI expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of these initiatives, emphasizing the signing of four new funding agreements worth €80 million to further support these endeavors.

The European Union's construction projects in Burkina Faso, including road construction, market development, and agricultural value chain development, were also discussed during the meeting.
