This funding is part of a joint commitment to address housing needs and is expected to create jobs in the housing industry. The projects will serve various groups, including young adults, students, and those facing homelessness. This investment aligns with Alberta's goal of creating 82,000 affordable housing units by 2031. Federal Prairies Economic Development Minister Eleanor Olszewski emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal and provincial governments and the use of Canadian resources for the project.
