The Thompson Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) General Investigative Section (GIS) reported a substantial drug and firearm seizure on July 8, 2025. The incident unfolded when officers conducted a routine traffic stop on Brandon Crescent, which ultimately led to the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of a significant quantity of suspected cocaine and a loaded firearm.

The traffic stop involved a vehicle with three adult occupants: two males, Al-Zabair Al-Adimi, 28, and Abdulrahman Qahtan, 29, both from Calgary, and a female, Silken Munroe, 28, from Cross Lake Cree Nation. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed indicators that prompted further investigation, resulting in the discovery of a duffel bag containing a Glock firearm loaded with ammunition and approximately 396 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine. Additionally, various drug paraphernalia were found during the search.

Following their arrest, Al-Zabair Al-Adimi, Abdulrahman Qahtan, and Silken Munroe have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and several firearm-related offenses. Given the severity of the alleged crimes and the evidence at hand, the accused individuals were remanded into custody to await their day in court.

The Thompson RCMP GIS continues to actively investigate this case to determine the extent of the trio's activities and to identify any potential links to larger criminal networks. The seizure of such a substantial amount of narcotics and a firearm underscores the persistent efforts of law enforcement to combat the illicit drug trade and gun violence within the community.

The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or information regarding drug trafficking or firearm offenses to the Thompson RCMP at (204) 677-6911 or anonymously through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The RCMP is dedicated to the safety and security of all residents and remains committed to dismantling criminal organizations that threaten the peace and well-being of communities in Manitoba.
