1. Kidnapping: There have been several reported cases of kidnapping for ransom in different parts of Ogun State. Notable incidents have occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and various other road networks in the state.

2. Armed Robbery: Armed robbery remains a significant security concern in the state, with criminals targeting banks, businesses, and residents. Attacks often involve the use of sophisticated weapons and occur both in urban and rural areas.

3. Cultism: The presence of cult groups is prevalent in some communities and tertiary institutions in Ogun State. These groups are involved in various criminal activities including armed robbery, rape, and violent clashes leading to loss of lives and property.

4. Land Grabbing: There have been numerous incidents of land grabbing (also known as land-related disputes) which have led to violent confrontations and loss of property. Some of these disputes are between communities and individuals, while others involve government officials and landowners.

5. Cybercrime: With the rise of internet usage in the state, cases of cybercrime such as fraud, phishing, and identity theft have increased. This has affected both residents and businesses, with some perpetrators using the internet to scam people outside the country.

6. Proliferation of Illegal Firearms: The spread of illegal firearms is a growing problem in the state, contributing to the rise in violent crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and cultism.

7. Human Trafficking: The state is also used as a transit point for human trafficking. Criminals often deceive individuals with promises of better opportunities abroad, only to subject them to forced labor, prostitution, and other forms of exploitation.

8. Drug Trafficking: The state shares borders with other West African countries, making it a hub for drug trafficking. Both local and international drugs are transported through the state, contributing to the drug problem and related crimes such as drug abuse and violent clashes between rival gangs.

9. Ritual Killings: Although less common than other crimes, ritual killings for religious or supernatural purposes have been reported in the state. These incidents often occur in the guise of money-making schemes and are carried out by individuals or groups seeking spiritual power or wealth.

10. Corruption: Corruption is a pervasive issue in Nigeria, and it's not uncommon in Ogun State. It can be found in various sectors, including the government, law enforcement, and businesses, affecting service delivery and the overall development of the state.

11. Advance Fee Fraud: Also known as "419" after the relevant section of the Nigerian Criminal Code, this is a type of scam where individuals are promised large sums of money in exchange for a small upfront payment. These scams often originate from the state and target unsuspecting victims both within and outside Nigeria.

12. Environmental Crimes: Illegal logging and mining activities have led to environmental degradation and conflicts with local communities, who often bear the brunt of the negative consequences.

13. Traffic Violations: There are numerous cases of drivers disobeying traffic laws, using unroadworthy vehicles, and engaging in dangerous practices such as overloading, speeding, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

14. Domestic Violence: Cases of domestic violence, including wife battery and child abuse, are unfortunately still prevalent in some communities within the state.

15. Vandalism and Theft: Theft and vandalism of public and private property, such as electricity cables, water pipes, and infrastructure, are also common, leading to economic losses and service disruptions.

The Ogun State government and security agencies are continuously working to combat these unlawful activities through various measures, including increased surveillance, community policing initiatives, and public enlightenment campaigns. However, the fight against crime requires collective efforts from the government, law enforcement, and citizens to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents.
