Accused embezzlers have initiated legal action against the Calgary Police Service, claiming corruption months prior to their charges.

Nathan Michael Mizera and Joshua Tyler Bredo are pursuing damages of no less than $3.5 million from 'state actors and law enforcement defendants,' which includes the CPS.

Two individuals charged this week with embezzling funds from a Bowness community organization previously filed a lawsuit against the Calgary Police Service, alleging corruption.


In a claim submitted to the Calgary Court of King's Bench, Nathan Michael Mizera and Joshua Tyler Bredo are seeking damages of at least $3.5 million from 'state actors and law enforcement defendants,' including the CPS and several of its members.

Furthermore, in a detailed 33-page claim, the duo asserts that they were victimized by members of the same organization, the Bowness Ratepayers Scout and Guide Hall Association, which they are accused of defrauding.
