The Governor-General extended a warm welcome to the newly elected Members

This week, the Governor-General extended a warm welcome to the newly elected Members of the House of Representatives and their families at Government House. This event was held in conjunction with the Hon Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Deputy Speaker Sharon Claydon MP, as part of their orientation program.

The Governor-General offered his congratulations on their election to the 48th Parliament of Australia and expressed eagerness to engage with them during their tenure in Parliament.

In discussions with the new Members, the Governor-General emphasized the vital role of all public office holders in fostering and promoting an understanding of civics, our institutions, and democracy.
