The case involves 16-count charges of criminal breach of trust and money laundering, as brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The trial has been ongoing with the EFCC presenting its witnesses. The first witness, Fabian Nwora, the chair of EFAB Property involved in the transaction of the property in question, completed his evidence, stating that the negotiation was concluded by Segun Adeleke, the EFCC's second witness. Adeleke testified that Bello had initially shown interest in the property and even brought an agreement for it but later changed his mind due to the EFCC investigation. The trial will continue with more evidence and testimonies in the upcoming court dates.
