The Manitoba RCMP is advising residents returning to their communities following wildfire evacuations to prepare for heavy traffic in the upcoming 48 hours. To ensure a safe journey, please adhere to the following guidelines when driving:

1. Exercise caution and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2. Reduce your speed and remain patient, as there will be vehicles towing trailers, campers, and boats, which may slow down the flow of traffic.
3. Stay vigilant for emergency workers, debris on the road, and wildlife that may have been displaced by the fires.
4. Refrain from distracted driving and maintain full concentration on the road ahead.
5. Only overtake other vehicles when it is completely safe and legal to do so, considering the current traffic conditions.
