🔵 ONGOING INVESTIGATION 🔵 The Traffic Section is actively investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred over the weekend, resulting in the tragic death of a 20-year-old man.

📍 On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a single-vehicle collision took place on Crowchild Trail N.W. near the Sarcee Trail overpass. Initial reports indicate that a Suzuki motorcycle, ridden by the 20-year-old, was traveling eastbound in the left lane of Crowchild Trail N.W. when the rider lost control, veering across the two right lanes and off the road. The motorcycle proceeded off the roadway towards the base of the embankment at the Sarcee Trail overpass, where the rider was ejected and struck the overpass, sustaining fatal injuries. Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle came to a stop at the eastern edge of Sarcee Trail N.W. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed may have contributed to the collision, while neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to have played a role. Authorities encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area during that time to reach out to the police by calling the non-emergency line.
