The Ambassador of Denmark to Kenya, H.E. Stephan Schönemann, recently hosted three exceptional members of the Danish Embassy's Youth Sounding Board. These young leaders are set to travel to Denmark to participate in the "Youth Action on the SDGs" program with the Danida Fellowship Center. Their mission is to collaborate with other international youth leaders in creating an action plan for inclusive and sustainable development.

The three Kenyan youths are:

1. A climate researcher, who is dedicated to advancing knowledge and solutions for environmental issues, particularly those affecting their community and beyond.
2. A peace advocate, who tirelessly works towards conflict resolution and the promotion of peace within their country and across borders.
3. An SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) and child rights champion, who fights for the rights and well-being of children and young people, ensuring they have the resources and support to thrive in a fair and just world.

Their trip includes attending Folkemødet, which translates to "The People's Meeting," an annual four-day political festival on the Danish island of Bornholm. This event is a unique platform for open discussions and debates on various societal issues, and it attracts thousands of participants from around the globe.

Upon their return to Kenya, these young leaders will contribute their insights and experiences to shape the People Dialogue Festival, an event aimed at fostering dialogue and collaboration among different segments of society to address pressing national issues.

This initiative underscores the importance of empowering and amplifying youth voices in the realm of international development. By supporting their participation in international forums, the Danish Embassy is investing in the future and ensuring that the perspectives and ideas of the younger generation are integral to the decision-making process for a better world.

Their involvement in the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) reflects the embassy's commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which calls for the active engagement of young people in the implementation and review of the goals. This collaborative approach is essential for creating a more equitable and sustainable future.

We wish them a successful trip and look forward to the impactful contributions they will make to both the Danish and Kenyan societies! 💚💪🌎
