The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) New Brunswick Traffic Unit has shared information about a recent traffic stop where a vehicle was found to be exceeding the speed limit significantly and the driver was operating without a valid driver's license. The incident occurred on the Vanier Highway near Fredericton, and the vehicle was clocked at 174 km/hr in a 110 km/hr zone.

The driver was issued two fines: one for speeding in the amount of $604.50 and another for driving without a valid license totaling $292.50. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for 7 days, with the owner being responsible for the associated costs. The RCMP is using the hashtag #SlowDownNB to emphasize the importance of adhering to the speed limits and maintaining safe driving practices.

Exceeding the speed limit by such a large margin is not only illegal but also poses a serious risk to the safety of the driver, passengers, and other road users. Driving without a valid license is another violation that can lead to severe consequences, including financial penalties and the loss of driving privileges. The RCMP's message is a reminder for all drivers to be aware of the rules of the road and the importance of driving safely and legally.
