Russian President Vladimir Putin has conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the leaders of African nations on the occasion of Africa Day, acknowledging the continent's growing prominence in the international community and emphasizing Russia's commitment to enhancing its partnerships with African countries. In his message, he highlighted the significant progress made by independent African states in various domains, including economic and social development.

He also underscored the importance of multilateral collaboration within the framework of the African Union and regional organizations in promoting peace, security, and stability across the continent.

The Kremlin's press service published the statement, in which Putin expressed his belief that through collective efforts, Russia and Africa could further expand their ties and contribute to the establishment of a more equitable and multipolar world order. The president specifically mentioned the Russia–Africa summits held in 2019 and 2023, which have served to bolster the strategic partnership between the two parties and align their views on key international matters. Additionally, he pointed out the role of the Ministerial Conference of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum as an effective platform for cooperation, with the next meeting planned for later this year in an African country.

The statement comes as Russia seeks to strengthen its influence and presence in Africa, offering diplomatic, economic, and military support to various governments while competing with other global powers for resources and strategic advantage on the continent. The greetings also underscore the Kremlin's interest in fostering closer relations with African nations as part of its broader foreign policy objectives.
