Finance Ministry Workers in Abuja Protest for Enhanced Welfare and Unpaid Allowa

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and oil sector unions PENGASSAN and NUPENG staged a protest at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja on Tuesday, demanding the payment of workers' entitlements that have been unpaid since January.

The protesters, dressed in red, blocked the main entrance to the ministry with placards that read, "Wale Edun release the payment file" and "Please pay our entitlements," as they sang solidarity songs. Union leaders met with Finance Minister Wale Edun inside the building for discussions regarding the unpaid upfront allowances. The protest caused traffic disruptions in the surrounding area.
