Durham Regional Police have reported that two children are in critical condition following a T-bone collision with an alleged impaired driver in Oshawa on May 15, 2025.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Taunton Road and Stevenson Road North at approximately 9 p.m. The accused, Aditya Singh, 29, of Oshawa, has been charged with five counts of impaired operation causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a conveyance, and failing to remain causing bodily harm. The children, aged five and 10, were passengers in the Hyundai Elantra that was hit by the 2000 Ford Mustang driven by the accused. The 10-year-old is in stable condition while the younger child is in serious condition. The driver and another passenger of the Hyundai also sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, with the 41-year-old driver being extricated from the vehicle. The accused attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended by responding officers.
