Teen Girl Shot at Moccasin Flats, Prince George

A 15-year-old girl was shot in a trailer at Moccasin Flats in Prince George, BC, in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to a media release from the Prince George RCMP. The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. and the Serious Crimes Unit is currently handling the investigation. There is no indication of increased risk to the general public at this time.
The trailer, a fifth-wheeler that has been parked at the location for several weeks, was taped off as police conducted their initial investigation. An officer visited nearby businesses to inquire about security footage, and the area remained an active crime scene throughout the day.
The Moccasin Flats encampment has seen a significant decrease in residents over the past few months, with the city providing alternative temporary housing options. The trailer is located near the western edge of the encampment. Last week, the city installed locking gates at both ends of the area.
