Jesse Bergstrom, 41, Katie Cameron, 39, and Samantha Lind, 48, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and multiple weapon offenses, including the possession of prohibited firearms. They have been released with future court dates in Red Deer.
This is the largest seizure of its kind in the area in the last 15 years, according to Staff Sgt. Jay Peden. The proximity of the drugs and firearms to Ecole Mother Teresa and Fox Run School is particularly concerning, prompting discussions about community safety and the importance of educating young people about the risks associated with drugs.
The Town of Sylvan Lake's Mayor Megan Hanson expressed gratitude for the RCMP's work, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in maintaining the community's safety. The RCMP are encouraging residents to report any suspicious activity to contribute to ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime.
