The court also heard from her attorney, Jibrin Okutepa (SAN), who filed a motion alleging contempt of court on the part of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and others, along with claims of violations of the Senator's rights. Senator Natasha was suspended from the Senate on March 6, 2025, due to allegations of misconduct and breaches of Senate regulations.

However, she contends that the suspension is linked to allegations she made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which he has refuted. The Senate Ethics Committee rejected her complaint, stating she did not adhere to the necessary procedures. In a prior session, the case was transferred from Justice Obiora Egwuatu to Justice Binta Nyako following Justice Egwuatu's recusal. During the hearing on Monday, May 12, Natasha's lawyer informed the court that they had submitted all required documentation.
Justice Nyako subsequently adjourned the hearing to Tuesday, May 13, to review all outstanding applications and move forward with the full case. Additionally, a controversy emerged surrounding a social media post made by the Senator, in which she accused the Senate President of attempting to restrict her freedom of speech. Akpabio's attorney requested the court impose sanctions in response.
