Incident #: BR25017743 On Saturday, May 10, 2025, around 10:42 PM, officers from the Brantford Police Service responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Dalhousie Street and Market Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Emergency medical assistance was provided at the scene, and the victim was subsequently transported to a hospital by ambulance, where he is currently in serious but stable condition. Officers secured the area and began an investigation.
During this process, an unrelated female approached one of the officers and assaulted them for no apparent reason. She was quickly taken into custody and charged accordingly. Further investigation revealed that an altercation had occurred between the victim and a group of individuals experiencing homelessness. During this confrontation, a 33-year-old male suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspect was later located, arrested, and taken into custody. As a result of the investigation, the 33-year-old male, who has no fixed address, has been charged with the following offenses: - Assault with a Weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code of Canada - Aggravated Assault, Section 268, Criminal Code of Canada - Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code of Canada The accused has been held for a bail hearing.
The investigation involved not only frontline patrol officers but also members of the Brantford Police Service Major Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Forensic Identification Unit.
