On the previous day, a significant milestone was achieved in Owerri as Air Peace conducted the inaugural international flight from Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, transporting 315 Hajj pilgrims to Medina on a Boeing 777, which is the largest aircraft to have ever landed at that location. This historic occasion was inaugurated by Nigeria's Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, in the presence of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Sultan of Sokoto, and other esteemed national figures, highlighting a moment of unity, advancement, and excellence in aviation for the South-East region and beyond.
