The announcement was made by Ambassador Musa Nuhu, Nigeria's representative to ECOWAS, during a review of the Seme border post on Wednesday. The vital trade route connecting Nigeria and Benin Republic has been hindered by an abundance of checkpoints along the Badagry-Seme corridor, posing considerable challenges for the movement of goods and people between the two countries.
"We are focusing initially on the Seme-Badagry Corridor. A committee has been formed under the guidance of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and we will soon commence efforts to resolve this issue. "We have taken note of all the concerns raised, and I assure you that the Nigerian government will also address any additional issues that arise." "This border is the most active in West Africa regarding the flow of goods, people, and services. If there is going to be successful free movement in West Africa, it will be most evident here," Ambassador Nuhu stated.
