On Sunday, April 27, 2025, officials from the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 27 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Jalingo, Taraba State. The arrests took place at Fenson Guest House and Mile 6 in Jalingo, following credible intelligence regarding their involvement in fraudulent online activities.

Authorities confiscated various items during the operation, including a 2013 Toyota Camry, 27 mobile phones, five laptops, and additional electronic devices. The suspects are expected to face charges in court once the investigations are completed.
