Upon their arrival, officers found that a male had barricaded himself inside the premises and refused to permit entry for the police to ensure the safety of others. The RCMP subsequently forced their way into the home and apprehended 41-year-old Roland Klyne from Winnipeg. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Klyne had assaulted and threatened a 21-year-old female and had also held a 36-year-old male at gunpoint. Fortunately, neither of the victims from Dauphin suffered serious injuries. A further search of the residence led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, and a knife. While in custody, Klyne caused damage to the sprinkler system in the Dauphin cells and issued threats towards an officer. Klyne has been remanded and faces 18 charges, including assault and several related to firearms. The investigation by the Dauphin RCMP is ongoing.
