HONK KONG BUSINESSMAN AWARDED THE MEMBER OF THE ORDER OF FIJI MEDAL

This morning, Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka presented the Member of the Order of Fiji Medal to Mr. Manohar Narindas Melwani, a distinguished businessman from Hong Kong and a devoted friend of Fiji.
The Prime Minister awarded this prestigious medal on behalf of His Excellency the President of Fiji, Na Gone Turaga Bale Na Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, in recognition of Mr. Melwani's exemplary contributions to humanity.
The Member of the Order of Fiji (Honorary) is a distinguished honor granted by the Government of Fiji to acknowledge and celebrate exceptional service.
Mr. Melwani is a renowned tailor, having crafted suits for several of Fiji's national leaders since the country's independence.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Rabuka highlighted Mr. Melwani's skill in creating high-quality formal attire for notable figures in Fiji's history, including the late former Governors-General, Gone Turaga Bale na Vunivalu, Na Tui Kaba, Ratu Sir George Cakobau, and the late former President Na Turaga Bale Na Tui Cakau, Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau.
In his remarks, Mr. Melwani conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Government and the people of Fiji for this honor, describing it as a significant and treasured moment for him and his family.
The ceremony was also attended by Fiji's Ambassador to China, His Excellency Mr. Robert Lee, along with members of Mr. Melwani's family.
