Japan has experienced its most significant population decline on record, with a decrease of 898,000 individuals within a single year.
The nation is witnessing a sharp decline in birth rates, an increase in mortality rates, and nearly one-third of its population is now eligible for senior citizen discounts.
This marks the 14th consecutive year of population decline, with immigration efforts having minimal impact.
In response, the government is introducing incentives such as baby bonuses and four-day workweeks; however, these measures appear to be mere temporary solutions to a looming demographic crisis.
