In total, 282 capsules of cocaine were discovered, prompting the Crime Branch to investigate the potential use of human mules for drug transport, as this form of capsule packaging is uncommon in India, according to police reports. On April 15, the Crime Branch Unit I conducted a raid on a residence in Motilal Nagar, Bhayandar East, apprehending Sabina Nazir Shaikh, 42, after receiving information that she was storing drugs. During the operation, approximately 12 kg of cocaine worth Rs 17.74 crore was recovered. Upon interrogation, Shaikh revealed that this shipment had been provided to her by Nigerian national Andy Ubabudike Onyinse, 45, who resides in Mira Road (East).

Following his arrest, police found an additional 2.6 kg of cocaine valued at Rs 3.90 crore in his home. Further inquiries led to the arrest of Cameroonian national Christable Enjei, residing in Evershine City, Vasai East, from whom officers seized 433 grams of cocaine worth Rs 65 lakh. Throughout these three raids, authorities also recovered approximately Rs 3 lakh in cash, along with US dollars and Nigerian currency.
