As a Young Leader of Generation17 and the founder of Muatalaf, I emphasize the critical need for gender equality, which is vital for global prosperity and a healthy planet. However, we face significant challenges, highlighted by an estimated annual deficit of US$360 billion in gender-equality initiatives by 2030. On International Women's Day, I would like to reflect on the significance of investing in women, an endeavor that transcends basic human rights. Such investment is fundamental to our collective progress in an ever-changing world. Diversity—especially gender diversity—fuels success. Varied backgrounds, cultures, knowledge, and gender perspectives infuse our efforts with essential insights and creativity. It is this richness that drives us towards effective solutions for the world's most pressing issues. We have moved beyond outdated notions of inequality, recognizing that inclusivity and equality are not just moral imperatives but essential elements of our advancement as a united global community.
Women have historically faced immense barriers, constantly needing to prove their worth amid deep-rooted biases and limitations. These challenges have not only underscored the necessity for resilience and excellence among women but have also revealed the tremendous impact and value of investing in their potential.

A defining moment in my journey illustrating the importance of this investment occurred when I received support from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sport to launch Muatalaf. This social development program empowers young leaders by fostering and managing initiatives that create positive, sustainable change.
Muatalaf has established 12 vibrant communities, each making contributions to fields like cybersecurity and leadership development. This milestone was not just an acknowledgment of my own achievements but a recognition of the impactful role that empowered women can play in societal advancement.
The launch of Muatalaf became a vehicle for elevating the roles of young women in community-driven initiatives, demonstrating their ability to lead with vision and purpose. It underscores how empowering women can catalyze change that benefits entire communities, far surpassed mere individual projects. In our fast-evolving world, the push for greater gender diversity in leadership roles is not merely a trend; it is an essential progression. Organizations that excel in this area not only set benchmarks for economic performance but also drive a broader societal movement towards equality and inclusion. They exemplify that investing in women's leadership is synonymous with investing in organizational success. In today's swiftly changing world, achieving gender diversity in leadership is vital to fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals. The crux of the matter is understanding that diversity, particularly gender diversity, enhances decision-making, promotes innovative thinking, and contributes to financial success. Women in leadership roles—whether as entrepreneurs, CEOs, or in other significant positions—represent not just a positive shift but a necessary evolution for both public and private sectors. This evolution harnesses the full range of human potential, fostering more resilient, innovative, and equitable workplaces. As we strive for gender equality, it is essential to recognize both our achievements and the challenges that remain. I am continually inspired by trailblazing women whose courage and creativity have forged paths where none existed, setting the stage for future generations.
Yet, gender biases and underrepresentation in leadership roles continue to pose significant challenges, presenting us with the greatest opportunity for meaningful and transformative change. To all the young women striving to make a difference: your journey is invaluable, your perspectives are essential, and your potential knows no bounds! Each step you take as a young change-maker not only propels you forward but also uplifts those who will come after you. You are part of a powerful lineage of women leaders who are shaping a better world.
So, go forth with strength and determination; your contributions are vital, your leadership is necessary, and your time is now.
