FBI Director Kash Patel: I am pleased to announce that on Saturday morning, our team at the FBI Albuquerque field office, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Phoenix division, apprehended an individual believed to be responsible for the arson incident that occurred in February at a Tesla facility in New Mexico.
This evidence is part of our ongoing investigation into the arson that took place in March at the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters.
The materials collected from the scene strongly suggest that our dedicated agents successfully thwarted additional planned arson attacks this weekend.
This accomplishment reflects the hard work of our teams, our ATF partners, and local law enforcement agencies who carried out this critical operation.
Under the guidance of Attorney General Pam Bondi, this initiative is in line with our FBI mission to identify and capture those accountable for domestic terrorist acts targeting Tesla, ensuring they face justice promptly.
Justice will prevail.
