With over 36 years of experience in law enforcement, Daroux has served in both the Calgary Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He retired in 2017 as Deputy Chief of the Calgary Police Service, where he oversaw the Bureau of Community Policing. Following his retirement, he joined the RCMP as the Director General of National Crime Prevention and Indigenous Policing Services. Currently, Daroux holds the position of Criminal Operations Officer for the Alberta RCMP.

"It is an absolute honor to be appointed as the Commanding Officer for the Alberta RCMP," Daroux stated. "The personnel within the Alberta RCMP are dedicated professionals who take great pride in serving Albertans every day. I am thankful to have such committed individuals alongside me as we work towards enhancing the safety and security of our communities.

" As the Commanding Officer, Daroux will oversee the Alberta RCMP, the second-largest division in the organization, consisting of nearly 4,200 personnel across 113 detachments serving over 1.5 million Albertans. Last month, Deputy Commissioner Rob Hill announced his retirement from the RCMP after 37 years of service in federal law enforcement. Hill had taken command of the Alberta RCMP early last year.
