The Diverse and Inclusive Pre-Cadet Experience (DICE) is a new RCMP initiative aimed at improving recruitment and retention by eliminating obstacles faced by racialized and underrepresented groups interested in joining the RCMP. This program is designed for:
- Newcomers to Canada (new Canadian citizens or permanent residents)
- Individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
- Members of racialized communities
- Individuals from all groups seeking employment equity

The DICE program consists of two key components:
1. Mentorship: Applicants are paired with an RCMP employee mentor who provides guidance and support related to a career with the RCMP. Mentors assist with the application process for the DICE program, the training experience, and the police officer application process for candidates who wish to apply.

2. Training Session: Selected candidates will participate in a three-week training session held at the RCMP Academy, Depot Division, in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a participant in the Diverse and Inclusive Pre-Cadet Experience, you will gain knowledge in:
- Being part of a policing team - An introduction to the Criminal Code and RCMP policies
- Physical fitness and drill

- Skills to prepare for applying to become a police officer Candidates who complete the training will receive ongoing support and guidance from the DICE team throughout the RCMP police officer application process. By finishing the DICE training, candidates will have satisfied several steps in the police officer application process, which will be reflected in their applicant files. Requirements to apply:
 - Must be 19 years of age or older - Must be a Canadian citizen or hold permanent resident status in Canada
- Must possess good character
- Must pass an enhanced reliability security check
- Must be in good physical condition

Cost: All program expenses, including travel, uniforms, meals, and accommodations, are covered by the RCMP.

How to apply: For more information or to learn about the application process, please email the program at rcmp.dice-ecdi.grc@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Date modified: March 28, 2025 Royal Canadian Mounted Police:
