📍 At around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, a CPS officer was performing a traffic stop on southbound Stoney Trail S.E. at 88 Street S.E. when their vehicle was rear-ended. It is reported that the officer was seated in the driver's seat of the police car, with emergency lights flashing, positioned on the right shoulder of Stoney Trail S.E. when a white 2015 Dodge Caravan collided with the vehicle at an undetermined speed.

The collision resulted in considerable damage to the police vehicle, necessitating the extraction of the officer from the car. The officer was subsequently taken to the hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, the impact caused the police car to strike the vehicle involved in the traffic stop; however, the driver of that vehicle was unharmed.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan did not suffer any injuries and was apprehended at the scene.
