In the background, Samuel Ladoke Akintola, then Minister of Aviation who founded Nigeria Airways, is present alongside Sir James Robertson, the final colonial Governor-General of Nigeria (1955–1960). Mrs. Christina Eyimofe Stallings holds the distinction of being Nigeria's first air hostess. She was born on December 22, 1929, in Kaduna to Mr. and Mrs. James Ekeru Tugele of Edjeba.
