Alongside Deb Edwards and Ruby, Dr. O'Donoghue's niece and grandniece, the Governor-General and Mr. Simeon Beckett SC were pleased to accept an invitation from Professor Genevieve Bell AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of ANU, and the Lowitja O'Donoghue Foundation to commemorate their beloved friend at the renaming of the ANU Cultural Centre to the Lowitja O'Donoghue Cultural Centre.

Dr. O'Donoghue was a strong advocate for the transformative power of education, making it especially fitting that this learning institution now honors her name—a significance that resonates deeply with the Governor-General as an ANU alumnus. A heartfelt thank you to Professor Bell; Deb Edwards, Head of the Lowitja O'Donoghue Foundation; Paul Girrawah House, custodian of the Ngambri-Kamberri and Ngunnawal nations; Pat Anderson AO, Patron of the Lowitja O'Donoghue Foundation; and Professor Tom Calma AO, Fellow of the Senate at the University of Sydney, for their warm welcome to the Governor-General and Mr. Beckett on this memorable occasion.
