2. In 2006, President Olusegun Obasanjo took action to suspend Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and his deputy, subsequently designating Brig. Gen. Tunji Olurin as the new governor.
3. In 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu enacted a six-month suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the state assembly.
