Authorities in Nigeria have reportedly discovered $500 million in cash and $1 billion worth of gold hidden in the residence of former Abia State Governor T.A. Orji in Abuja.

In addition to these assets, they also found a forged gubernatorial election result sheet, which was allegedly used to secure his victory.
This shocking discovery followed a petition from the current Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate his predecessor. Otti cited massive financial losses during Orji's administration, as well as the state's poor infrastructure, including deteriorating roads and food insecurity.
In response to the petition, EFCC operatives conducted a raid and uncovered what analysts describe as an extraordinary amount of wealth that could have significantly improved the conditions of Abia State during Orji's tenure.
