Baloch separatists have taken numerous individuals hostage following an assault on a passenger train. A significant number have been released after government forces initiated a comprehensive operation.

This follows the successful rescue of nearly 80 passengers during a security operation targeting armed militants who ambushed the train in the remote mountainous region of Mach, located in southwestern Balochistan province.
While some hostages have been liberated, many others remain in captivity.
On Wednesday, security forces reported that over a hundred train passengers had been rescued after being taken hostage by armed insurgents in Pakistan's volatile Balochistan area.
The Jafar Express train was attacked by Baloch insurgents as it traversed the mountainous landscape on Tuesday.
According to the Interior Ministry, approximately 155 hostages were released, and efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining individuals.

Those who were freed recounted their harrowing experience, stating they had to walk for hours to reach safety and were compelled to leave behind relatives from whom they had been separated.
