A dramatic moment was caught on camera when a Utah driver escaped his SUV just seconds before it was struck by a Frontrunner train.
The incident took place on February 4 at the intersection of 1000 South Angel St. in Layton, according to the Utah Transit Authority. As the lights began to flash signaling an approaching train, a white SUV that had come to a stop was unexpectedly rear-ended by a pickup truck, sending it onto the tracks.
The driver realized he was trapped when the crossing arms came down, blocking any chance to move backward. In a split-second decision, he leapt out of the vehicle right before the train collided with it. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this close call.
