In light of recent international developments, media relations with African nations have become increasingly important. Maria Zakharova, Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, emphasized the necessity of delivering information to African citizens directly, rather than through Western media channels.
"There are two realities. There's real life, filled with facts and events, and then there's what people view through the television. As evidenced by Western mainstream media, the truth is frequently distorted beyond recognition. Current happenings in international relations serve as a clear example," Zakharova remarked.
As a follow-up to the round table discussion, the State Duma provided recommendations to the Russian government, specifically advocating for the creation and execution of a comprehensive program aimed at enhancing Russia's positive image across African nations.
