After trying to bring a loaded Ruger LC 380 pistol into Canada, U.S. citizen Randy Kieth Thompson entered a guilty plea in Lethbridge Provincial Court, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). On September 8, Thompson made an effort to enter Canada. According to CBSA, he reported having two unrestricted firearms, but after being questioned by police and having his car searched, he acknowledged holding a loaded, undeclared pistol concealed within the car. He was found guilty under the Customs Act of smuggling and making a false or misleading statement. Thompson was subject to a 10-year conditional guns restriction order and a $8,000 fine. Additionally, he was told to give up the confiscated firearms and ammunition.
