A six-year-old child was stabbed in downtown Halifax on Sunday afternoon, according to police, and is currently in the hospital with potentially fatal injuries.FB_IMG_1740446959126.jpg

 Around 1:20 PM, police arrived at the 1900 block of Barrington Street and discovered a youngster with "multiple stab wounds."  The child was transported to the IWK Health Centre via ambulance.  On Monday morning, they were still in the hospital.  Elliott Chorny, 19, has been recognized by the police as the suspect.  She was apprehended for aggravated assault after being discovered at the site.  The charge has been changed to attempted murder, nevertheless.  The perpetrator and the victim are not thought to be acquainted by the police.
