Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has stated that his passion for industrialised Nigeria is the only reason he does not own houses outside Nigeria.
Speaking during a media meet at Dangote Oil Refinery, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Dangote disclosed that he once owned a house in London which he sold in 1996.

He added: "The reason I do not have a house in London or the United States is purely because I wanted to focus on industrialisation in Nigeria.|
"I thought if I had these houses, there would be one reason or the other to visit these places and distract myself.
"The Nigerian dream is very close to my heart and in addition to my house in Lagos, I have another in my home state of Kano and a rented one in Abuja," he revealed.

He added: "I have never seen anyone as hardworking as my father. Sometimes I wonder how he never gives up.
"I wish we had a few more men like my father in Nigeria, the country would be a better place," he said.
