On February 6, 2025, at approximately 5:51 a.m., members of the Caledonia Region RCMP responded to a call of a home invasion at a residence on Isaiah Street in Berry Mills.
Three individuals forced their way into the apartment occupied by a man and woman, both in their thirties. A struggle ensued, resulting in the death of an unidentified individual. When police arrived on scene, two suspects had already left the scene in a black 2018 Dodge Ram 2500.
A report of the incident was made at approximately 7:30 a.m. After further investigation, it is believed that a light-colored Ford F150 was also involved in the home invasion. Police are continuing to search for both vans, but the person initially named in the Ready Alert is no longer considered a suspect.
Police have reason to believe that this was a targeted incident and that there is no longer a risk to the general public. The Ready Alert has since been ended.
"We are seeking to speak with anyone who was traveling in the Berry Mills area in the early morning hours of February 6, 2025," Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP. "If you have any camera footage or other video from the area around the time of the incident, please call police."
