SINGAPORE: A motorcyclist and his passenger died in a crash along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Tuesday morning (Jan 21).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in response to CNA's inquiries that it was alerted to an accident along the BKE towards Pan Island Expressway (PIE) before the Kranji Exit Expressway (KJE) at around 5.40am.
Police said a motorcycle and two trucks were involved in the accident.
"A 52-year-old motorcyclist and a 41-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic," the police said.
Police investigations are ongoing. Several videos have been circulating on social media showing the aftermath of the accident.

People could also be seen gathered around the vehicles and bodies.
Another video posted on Facebook showed police vehicles at the scene of the incident and two blue tents erected behind the stationary white truck.

The motorcyclist was taken to Woodlands Health Campus, according to the SCDF.
Police investigations into the "escape" case are ongoing.
