Motorcyclist,  passenger die in early morning BKE crash involving two  trucks.

SINGAPORE: A motorcyclist and his  passenger died in  a crash along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Tuesday  morning (Jan  21).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in response to  CNA's inquiries that it was alerted to an accident along the BKE towards Pan Island Expressway (PIE) before the Kranji  Exit Expressway (KJE) at around  5.40am.
Police said a motorcycle and two  trucks were involved in the accident.
"A 52-year-old motorcyclist and a 41-year-old female  passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF  paramedic," the  police said.
Police investigations are ongoing.  Several videos  have been circulating on social media showing the aftermath of the  accident.
In a video  posted on Facebook, a white  truck can be seen  stopped in the  frontage of  a road with two people wearing motorcycle helmets lying on the ground near the rear  wheels of the truck.
People could also be seen gathered around the vehicles and  bodies.
Another video  posted on Facebook showed police vehicles at the scene of the  incident and two blue tents erected behind the stationary white  truck.
ANOTHER HIT AND RUN
Another accident involving two motorcycles  occurred near the stationary white  truck. Police said they were alerted to a  hit and run involving two motorcycles along BKE  toward PIE around  6:30 a.m.
A 24-year-old motorcyclist was  taken to  hospital conscious, they added.
The motorcyclist was taken to Woodlands Health Campus, according to  the SCDF.
Police investigations into the  "escape" case are  ongoing.
TRAFFIC BLOG, BUS  DELAY
Following the accidents, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on social media platform X around  7pm that there was heavy congestion on the road leading to the Woodlands  checkpoint during the morning  rush hour. In its  message, LTA also advised  drivers to avoid the first two lanes of the  highway due to the  accident.
Some bus operators  have also warned of delays  on some bus services  using BKE.
Bus operator Tower Transit posted on Facebook at around  8:27 a.m. that services 171, 963 and 966 were  delayed by 40 to 45 minutes due to traffic congestion on BKE  to PIE before the KJE  exit.
In a separate message, Tower Transit also said that bus service 856  was delayed by 15 to 20 minutes due to traffic congestion  returning from  BKE.
Another bus operator, SBS Transit, posted on Facebook at around 9am that services 161 and 168 were delayed along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) due to traffic congestion.  Bus service 138 was also delayed along Mandai Road towards Mandai Lake Road due to traffic congestion, SBS  Transit added.
SBS Transit updated the  message around noon  to say that services  that were previously  experiencing delays  have returned to  normal.
